TPVD ZrN

TPVD ZrN Coating

Tanury TPVD ZrN is a medical grade, wear resistant coating with high hardness, excellent corrosion resistance and a low coefficient of friction. TPVD ZrN has been used as a coating for medical and surgical instruments that may experience corrosion due to contact with bodily fluids or sterilization solutions. In salt spray corrosion tests, ZrN has improved the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. It can be deposited with good adhesion at temperatures as low as 350¡ F. TPVD ZrN can be used as a decorative coating and in some instances in place of TiN for product differentiation purposes.

TPVD ZrN has been certified to be biocompatible based on a series of tests conducted by an independent biological testing laboratory. The biocompatibilty test include those typically required by the tripartite protocol for materials which experience short term body contact.
