TPVD TiN Coating

Tanury's TiN is a wear resistant biocompatible titanium nitride (TiN) coating produced with the proprietary cathodic arc physical vapor deposition (PVD) process.

TPVD TiN is a general purpose coating for: machining of iron based materials, metal fabricating, plastic molding, wear parts, decorative, and medical device applications. The high hardness and low coefficient of friction of TiN reduce erosion, abrasion, and metal-on-metal wear. The coating also resists corrosion. TiN is not inclined to stick to or bond with other materials. Wear surfaces and cutting edges remain free of galling and cold bonding for long periods of time. TPVD TiNÕs'strong adhesion and dense microstructure prevent flaking and cracking at cutting or wear surfaces, even where extreme compressive forces exist. The rich gold color offers better wear and corrosion resistance than gold itself for the specialty decorative market and medical devices.
