THOMAS A. TANURY, Chairman
Mr. Tanury assumed management responsibilities for Tanury Brothers, Inc. in the mid-1970s, became president of Tanury Industries in 1976, and chairman in 1985. Under his direction the company has grown from a 15 employee family business serving the jewelry industry to Tanury Industries, a multi-faceted company of approximately 200 employees serving a variety of markets. Mr. Tanury currently serves on the Board of Directors of Rhode Island Hospital, Vice Chairman of the Providence Performing Arts Center, and Director of Professional Facilities Management, Chairman of the Board of the William M. Davies Career and Technical High School, and Board of Directors of The Washington-based American Task Force for Lebanon. Mr. Tanury has also served on numerous other boards, committees and commissions and is a member of the 24Kt Club of New York City. In 1995, Mr. Tanury was give the Good Scout Award by the Boy Scouts of America, honoring him for his service to the community. Because of Tanury Industries' success and because of Mr. Tanury's untiring efforts to give back to the community, he was chosen by the Small Business Administration as Rhode Island's 1996 "Small Business Person of the Year." MICHAEL A. AKKAOUI, President/CEO Mr. Akkaoui holds a juris doctorate degree in law from New England School of Law and a bachelor of arts degree in political science and business administration from Providence College. He joined Tanury Industries in 1974, became its president in 1990, and Chief Executive Officer in 1995. Mr. Akkaoui serves on the Board of Directors of Manufacturing Jewelers and Silversmiths of America, Save the Bay, and Family Resources. He holds memberships in the Rhode Island Bar Association, American Electroplaters and Surface Finishers Society, Providence Jewelers Club, and Rhode Island Contract Electroplaters. Mr. Akkaoui is also a certified ISO lead auditor. Mr. Akkaoui has been a featured speaker on various topics for the Rhode Island Bar Association, New England Business for Social Responsibility, Brown University Venture Forum, Rhode Island Department of Economic Development, Manufacturing Jewelers and Silversmiths of America, Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce, and the American Electroplaters and Surface Finishers Society. JAMES F. DiNUNZIO, Executive Vice President Administration Jim DiNunzio joined Tanury Industries in 1976 and is presently Executive Vice President of Administration. As vice president, Mr. DiNunzio is responsible for process development, process engineering, and systems review and improvement. Mr. DiNunzio holds a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from University of Rhode Island, and is a member of the American Electroplaters and Surface Finishers Society, Manufacturing Jewelers and Silversmiths of America, Providence Jewelers Club, and the American Chemical Society. He has served as the key speaker on the subject of electroplating technology at a variety of trade shows and technical symposiums including MJSA and AESF seminars. In 1985 he was guest lecturer to the Taiwan Branch of the American Electroplating Society in Taiwan, Republic of China, where he presented an abstract on the electrochemistry of precious metal electrodeposits. JOSEPH A. ACCAOUI, Executive Vice President Operations Joseph Accaoui joined Tanury in 1976, became plant manager in 1985, and was appointed Executive Vice President of Operations in 1994. Mr. Accaoui is responsible for production planning, plant technology and efficiency, and overseeing all phases of the plating operation. Mr. Accaoui holds a bachelor of science degree in general management from Rhode Island College.
ROBERT CORCORAN , Vice President Finance Rob joined Tanury Industries in 2001 as Controller and was promoted to Vice President of Finance in December 2005. He brings with him several years experience in the accounting business. Before joining Tanury Industries, Rob worked for a Cookson company. Mr. Corcoran received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
